Second Paper (Poetry)
Subject : # 14217 Poesia Inglesa desde el siglo XVII Gr B
Student´sName: Callero Djambolakdjian, Lucía
Title of the paper: Byronic hero, other works and influence.
Author or topic: Lord Byron.
Abstract:
Before to beginning with my first topic, I would like to introduce a bit of this paper: this is going to be a bit different from my first paper because I have tried to cover different topics. Firstly, I am going to develop a short analysis about the following poems I have chosen from this writer: Written After Swimming from Sestos to Abydos, She Walks in Beauty and Don Juan: Canto I. I am going to extent in She walks on beauty because when I read the title it drew my attention (I am going to explain a bit more this in my conclusion). Although, I am going to show you a short analysis about Don Juan to refresh your memory and because it includes a briefly paragraph about why Lord Byron wrote Don Juan. But we do not finish with Don Juan topic here, because I found some interesting information about the heroic in Byron’s Mock-Epic Poem. Secondly, I am going to talk about the so called Byronic hero : a lot of writers were influenced (here, we only talk about one of these writers) by this special hero, and I say ‘special’ because it was a kind of ‘antihero’ and we can observe this in its characteristics.
I would like to conclude this second paper with a very interesting video in which a man is reciting a Lord Byron’s poem:

And also I tried to express what I felt when I heard this. Although I did not understand ‘word-for-word’.
Auto-evaluation: I think I deserve a 5 because I was interested in looking for information.
